Scully gets the DNA test results back. She is chocked; Emily Sim is not Melissas daughter, but Scullys! When Scully tells Mulder, who is in Washington, that Emily is her daughter, Mulder senses something interesting, and travels to San Diego to help her. During the investigation they finds out that Emilys adoptive mom may have been murdered. The main suspect is her adoptive father, and he gets arrested, but someone get into his cell, and kill him. Now they have to look for a new main suspect. They also finds out that Emily has a rare disease, and that a weird doctor is taking tests of her. When Mulder is following the doctor, he leads them to a nursing home operated by shape-shifting aliens. Emily seems to be the key to whats going on, but they will never know, because Emily dies. All the evidence lead to that Emily was just another alien/human hybridization experiment.
